Abstract
The topic of this symposium - "Sacred Sites and Modem Lives" - is very timely. We often hear news about some building project that has unearthed an ancient village or burial ground. For every building project that is unearthed you also hear great debate about what to do about the building project, or what to do with the artifacts and the human remains. There exists a big struggle - on the one hand, the needs of society and science, and on the other hand, respect for places and things and people that came long before.
